ANANGAN MALA (Anangan mountains)

A medium sized hill ,area famous as a film location,calm village area.Hill extends up to 18 km.through kizhur,kothakurssi,panamanna,varode ambalappara.Anangan Mala is located 10 Kms from Ottapalam , along Cheruppulassery Road. The area immediately following the mountain, the Adivaram, is called Ananganadi. Its a pleasant sight to see the tribals on the other side of the hill set some parts of the forest on fire, looking for honey. its a common sight to see goats that sometimes climb the full height of the mammoth hill.The highest point is 400Metre.As a legend Anangan mala had a folk story which established between Valluvanad people.In the Epic Ramayana When Lakshmana is severely wounded during the battle against Ravana, Hanuman is sent to fetch the MrithaSanjivani, a powerful life-restoring herb, from Dronagiri mountain in the Himalayas, to revive him.One piece of the hill fell down at kizhoor from hanuman's hand.Hanuman tried his best to retake,but in vain.This Anangatha(malayalam...Means 'moveless') mala is Anangan mala.









kizhur is a cute village near ottappalam in palakkad district. The village is blessed with lot of natural resource in the so-called ananganmala, the most interesting sight from the village.The entry to the village is called panikkar kunnu and its part is sticked above this article You may fall in love with the panorama and the waterfall will do the rest! There have been lot of film songs, clips, albums and much more taken the area just because of the tantalizing beauty is has.Lot of people are familiar with you who has visited here for many times for shooting etc..Rajini kanth(muthu), vikram(saami), Mohanlal(vadakkum nathan, aaraam thamburaan etc.), Mammootty(Arayannangalude veedu etc.) are only few of them. The villagers are so enthusastic to behave with and they own lot of paddy fields which will cool your eyes.Now the Area is totally changed after the Anangamala Eco turism Project  was inougurated by respected minister Binoy Viswam on may 2010.
